“The internet is a great way to get on the net”

Bob Dole was truly ahead of his time.

Have you ever meticulously filled out a web form just to hit submit and nothing happens? Or worse yet the page reloads with an error message but all your data is gone? It's not your fault! It's poor UX or User eXperience and it's time to shame these websites! You don't have to be a design expert or web developer to realize how frustrating these online hazards are. As web developer however, knowing these apps and websites have massive budgets, design teams, UX/UI specialists, A/B testing and QA squads is aggravating. Some of these UX-Oh's are so blatant, it seems like none of these people even use their own products... Bad UX can be as simple as illegible text, content scrolling outside of the viewport (screen overflow) or more advanced like 'Hey Phone, get me directions to Brooklyn St in Barre' but instead you end up at a bar in New York.

Bad UX is sometimes by design for revenue. Ads that take up 3/4 of the screen, fake X close icons and intentionally misleading buttons like “download here’ purposefully trip up users. This is all engineered to increase ad revenue while causing frustrated visitors.

These scammers can be even more malicious with hidden fees or even changing a products price from cart to checkout.

These days with society’s dependence on smartphones, bad UX can be devastating.
The internet is quickly losing quality due to Al and content scraping, making quality Ux less profitable and less prolific.

It’s time to shame these websites & apps! I encourage you to share these fails freely and submit your own UX-Oh’s.
